His last shift at the Oregonian

Dan walked away from his job of 27 years at 10:00 pm on  a Friday night. He met Ron for  a drink at Higgins and a number of his colleagues showed up after the paper was done, to wish him well.
He crawled into bed and woke up nine hours later to his lovely wife eagerly awaiting his kiss. "Welcome to your semi retirement!"
I am his sweet wife.
I told Dan how last night i watched Animal Planet, a 'documentary' supporting the premise that mermaids once lived on the Earth. They communicated with dolphins. A partially decomposed mermaid was found and not only did she have a blow hole in her skull plate, she possessed long femur bones (unlike seals), and she had knock knees! I extended my legs up out of the covers and lifted them like a mermaid's tail towards the white ceiling fan, " see?"
Now who better to escort Daniel out to sea tomorrow on his Repositioning Cruise?
Exacting, I rest my case:)
