Home

Pilgrim was HAPPY to see us! He had a fox tail burr in his ear which the vet removed. Can't say where it grows, what it looks like or where he got attached to it. Apparently velcro was created from it's example of hooking!
Gentimycin a drop in each each ear daily for one week will help heal.
Sunny in Vancouver today: do our mile and a half, do laundry and hrocery shopping. Make lentil soup and dan mows the front lawn diagonally. I call Dad, Tom, Joe and Anna, checking in!
Ducks played at 3:00, when we found time to cuddle with Mr P.

Monday

M is for Movement
Heavy seas, tumultuous even; Dan slept like a baby:) i am Thankful he did. I did not. I spent a good portion of the night praying. Praying for the captain and staff, my personal list of loved ones and for God's mercy on the Seas. I rarely feel so vulnerable. This would be no place for Pilgrim! the decks are barred: where to relieve as the Norwegian Pearl lists . It was good to awaken! And glimpse the camera on the bow:

Dan wants to reset his clock so we are on the same body rhythm after many "see you in bed"  years. We shower quickly and make out way to the dining room. The seas are rough! The Port of Astoria is closed, we will be at sea today. After a good breakfast we dance our way to the Library. Muster is mandatory at 10:30. We sit high in the Stardust Lounge, a bit of vertigo then. Lunch in the Summer Palace is followed by a nap; deep peaceful sleep. Dan wakes me at 5 for cocktail hour. We seek the quiet refuge of the Sky Bar where we settled to read earlier now for a drink. We are needing air and sit in the sheltered area by the empty pool to watch the sunset. There is little to do today but Rest, Rock upon the roiling ocean and Refresh. Not mermaid sightings, but i call them Serena and Seaphora, Faith and Delphina.

Then we dress for dinner and enjoy the cuisine at La Cucina, the Italian offering.

After a night cap we return to our cabin
Sleep Well!

Sunday

(Sanctity) may I see you through the eyes of Love, may you see me through the eyes of love. . .
Today started beautifully, whisking Dan away with only a cup of coffee and wonderment playing in the light of dawn. We had breakfast at PDX Gustav's, little did we know it would be nine hours before our next meal.
Our 1 hour and nine minute flight allowed Dan to slip back into twilight sleep, hummed to sleep by the plane's propellor.
Then a bus trip after immigration in Vancouver, B.C, lines to customs, and lines for immigration back into the USA and hours of snaking back and forth with two thousand others. Finally we were able to board the ship. So many looks of despair on the faces, i silently spoke to. "May I see you through the eyes of Love."
We missed muster, but watched a life vest demo and then found the quiet Sky  Bar to enjoy a pre dinner beverage.
We checked into our room 10117 and stowed our clothes, Chris will be our Steward. He brought a plate of chocolate dipped Strawberries;)
Dinner was served in the Summer Palace. Dan ordered the Polenta cake, Caesar, Steak and Lobster and i had the spring roll, greens, moroccan Sweet Potato rice cakes and lemon sorbet.
A rainy day, patiently traversing, slowly progressing through line after line left us tired and ready for an early bedtime.
Our Journey has begun! The ocean roils!
